12th Annual Preble County Stingrays Swimming Invitational

The Preble County Stingrays Invitational is going into its 12^th year. We try to bring swimmers from around the southwest corner of Ohio together to swim. We provide a competitive atmosphere for our swimmers and a fun time for the parents.All swimmers will leave the invitational with at least a ribbon for their efforts. With the success of last year invite, we have to limit the number of swimmers to the first 500. We will not split a team up. We do not give a refund unless both days are rained out.

We also do a “Breast Strokes for Breast Cancer Campaign”fund raiser with the breast stroke events. All proceeds from the breaststroke events will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. We have risen over $6000.00 during the past 6 years for this cause. There is a form if your team or individual would like to sponsor a breast stroke event.

POOL: 8 lane pool with diving at both ends. Track start blocks on the one end. Colorado timing system with touch pads and plungers.

SWIMMERS AWARDS: First Place individual winners will receive medals.

First Place relay team winners will each receive a rosette.

Double-ribbons for 2^ndthrough 12^thplaces

Heat Winner prizes will be distributed for ALL heats.

All non-placing swimmers will receive a Participation ribbon.

EXHIBITION EVENT: We have an exhibition event for some family fun. Mom and Dad can swim

against their swimmers. Event 41 and 42 is a 25-meter freestyle. This

is open to any age and the families will be in the lane next to each other.

This will be swam right before the 20 minute break. There will be ribbons awarded for this event.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded to the top point swimmers in each age group: 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 13 and 14, 15 and over, both boys and girls.

The kick board events will not be included in the high point awards for the meet. NO RIBBIONS OR AWARDS WILL BE MAILED.

TEAM AWARDS: Team trophies will be awarded to the First, Second, and Third Place Teams. Preble Country Stingrays will not be eligible for the team trophies.

ENTRY FEES: Individual Events: $5.00 Relays: $18.00

Deck Entries:Individual: $7.00 Relays: $28.00

DECK ENTRIES: Deck Entries will be accepted. DECK ENTRIES THE DAY OF EVENT

WILL END AT 8:00 A.M. AND ONLY ALLOWED IF THERE IS ROOM IN A CURRENT HEAT, NO NEW HEATS WILL BE ADDED. If you have a swimmer that has not been entered for the meet, you need to report them EARLY to the scoring table to have them register. Deck entries will be accepted before Saturday’s meet through email.

Scoring as follows:

Individual: 1^stthrough 12^thplace – 13, 12, 11,10,9,8,7,6, 5, 4, 3, 2

Relays: 1^stthrough 6^thplace – 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12

MEET WORKERS: The Stingrays ask each team to provide two timers per half. If you have any officials willing to work we would gladly take them as well.

MEET TIME: 9:00 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m. there is a 20 minute break at mid point

WARM-UP TIMES: Warm-up times will be based on distance traveled.

RULES: USA swimming rules for 2019 will be used with the exception/inclusion of the following:

*There may be mixed relays swimming in the boy’s event. At least 2 boys have to be on the relay.

* Swimmers may enter up to 4 Individualand 2 Relay events.

* Swimmers MUST compete in their age group except to fill in relays in which case they may move up any number of age groups to complete a relay team.

* One false start allowed.

* 6 & under will be limited to backstroke and freestyle; they may use an assisted swimmer.There will not be any disqualifications for stroke infractions; Swimmers 6 & under may swim up to any age group, but normal rules for the stroke will be adhered to. 6 & under events do not count towards scoring.

22nd Annual Invitational

The Darke County Stingrays Swim Team is excited for this year’s annual swimming invitational. We are located at the Greenville City Swimming pool. Our invitational welcomes all levels of swimmers, from the competitive winter swimmer to the recreational and novice swimmers. Our invitational brings swimmers together from surrounding communities for a competitive, yet fun day! It is our hope that all swimmers will leave this invitational with at least a ribbon for their efforts. We hope that you will be attending and look forward to seeing you for a great day of swimming!!

PLACE:Greenville City Swimming Pool

STARTING TIME:9:00 am (meet begins) Pool will be cleared at 8:45 am

WARM-UP TIMES:Assigned as entries are received and by size of the team

FACILITIES:Six Lane, 25 meter outdoor pool, with anti-wave lane markers. KDI Paragon Quick-set Starting Platforms in 12 foot depths.

SCORING: INDIVIDUAL: 1st through 6th place – 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point(s)RELAYS: 1st through 6th place – 14, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points

SWIMMERS AWARDS:All first place winners will receive Medals. Double Ribbons for Second through Sixth Place. All heat winners ages 8&U through 11-12 will be given recognition. Assisted swimmers will receive double ribbons. High point trophies for individual swimmers in each age group.

TEAM AWARDS: A trophy will be awarded to the first, second, and third place teams.

ENTRY FEES: Individual Events - $4.00; Relays - $15.00 ($5 per person)

DECK ENTRIES: Deck entries will be accepted when space permits. No new heats will be added. All deck entries should be registered before 8:30 am. If you need to enter a late swimmer, please come early to the scoring table. Deck entry fees will be $5.00 for individual events and $20.00 for relays. This includes assisted swimmers that deck enter.

RULES: National Federation Rules for 2016 will be used with exception/inclusion of:

• Unattached swimmers are welcome and must swim as such
• There may be mixed relays swimming in the boy’s event. At least 2 boys have to be on that relay.
• Swimmers may enter 4 individual and 2 relay events.
• Swimmers must compete in their age groups, except to fill relays in which case they may move up any number of age groups to complete that relay team.
• One (1) false start allowed
• For swimmers needing flotation devices or assistance, there is one boys’ and one girls’ event. Swimmers must pre-register so that enough ribbons can be ordered.

MEET WORKERS: Please provide three (3) timers for the duration of the meet. If your team has a Stroke and Turn Official(s) to rotate during the meet, please indicate on our entry sheet. Your workers will be provided with free drinks during their shift and judges will be given meal tickets.
